IMPORTANT CONFERENCE UPDATE:   In recognition of the increased financial restraints that infant, child and adolescent mental health and well being organisations are currently facing, Werry Centre has decided to revamp this year's conference to be more streamlined and give greater value for money, while keeping all of the excellent opportunities for professional development and networking.   The conference will now be held over 2 days; 15 & 16 September with pre-conference workshops on 14th September.  Fees have been reduced accordingly, those who have already registered will be contacted in due course.

Earlybird registration date extended to Monday 9th August!

Nga mihi mahana ki a koutou - Warm Greetings to you all

On behalf of the local conference organising committee from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services team at Nelson Marlborough DHB and our partners at the Werry Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Workforce Development we would like to invite you to our next conference to be held in Nelson 15th to 16th September 2010.

At the recent CAMHS national sector leaders day it was generally agreed that this conference plays an important part in upskilling the workforce, revitalising practice and sharing knowedge, all of which benefit service users and their families.  We encourage you to attend and participate in the conference and to make submissions for the Inaugural Service Innovations Awards.

The theme of the conference is Attachments – those important attachments that support children and youth to reach their full potential.  The conference is an opportunity to showcase programmes and innovative ways that families and communities help secure those important attachments.  We hope to enhance your own models of working with children and youth in the mental health sector with outstanding keynote speakers who understand the challenges of today’s young people and ways of us all working together for a better world.

We invite you to join us in sunny Nelson with our beautiful beaches and National parks.   Enjoy the creative talent of Nelson, be inspired by the craftsmanship of our local Artists.

Put these dates in your diary and tell all your colleagues to come and join us in sunny Nelson in September!
