8th International Conference on Oceanic Linguistics - COOL8
Welcome
The
Department of Applied Language Studies and Linguistics, University of
Auckland, looks forward to welcoming scholars in the field of Oceanic
linguistics to their eighth international conference.
Conference Venue: Conference Centre, University of Auckland, 22 Symonds Street.
Topics:
Papers
on any aspect of Oceanic linguistics will be welcome, as will papers on
“east Papuan” languages, the pidgin/creole languages of the Oceanic
area, and varieties of the metropolitan languages in the Oceanic area.
Keynote
speakers:
Claire Moyse-Faurie (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique)
Malcolm Ross (Australian National University
Papers: Papers will be of 30 minutes’ length, 20 minutes for
presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. Participants may submit up to one
single-authored paper and one joint-authored
paper.
Abstracts:
- Length: not more than half a page, single-spaced, including data and
references.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12.
- Please observe the length limit. Abstracts that exceed the limit will
not be considered.
- With the abstract include only the title of your paper, not your name
or affiliation.
- Abstracts are to be submitted electronically as Word attachments.
- In the body of your message give the title of your paper, and your
name and affiliation.
- Deadline for abstracts: 31st May 2009
