Welcome Naumai, hāeremai, piki mai e te manuhiri tūārangi mo tēnei kaupapa tino nui hui. Welcome, welcome come forth visitors from afar for this important hui. We warmly welcome you to join us in Nelson, for our annual conference and annual general meeting. This is an important few days in our annual calendar and our professional lives where we can take the time to engage in lively discussion and listen to highly respected colleagues in our profession impart cutting edge information and inspiration. It is a time for us to honour those who are achieving with the Annual Awards and the Constance Shearer Presentation. As well, it is a time for us to learn, network with colleagues and friends and an opportunity to reignite passion for our daily professional lives. Nelson gave birth to the award winning World of Wearable Arts and is home to the fabulous World of Wearable Arts and Collectable Cars Museum. It truly has the WOW factor and we’ve developed the conference theme to embrace WOW : Global – Local – Us. From thinking Globally to acting Locally, speakers and presenters will be asked to incorporate how their presentation and ideas relate to this important ethos and our practice. We are delighted to welcome our keynote speakers: Dr David Barling from City University, London and Dr Gary Egger from Southern Cross University, Australia.
