Welcome:
The Wellington School of Medicine, Otago University, New Zealand and Harvard Medical School Dubai Center Institute for Postgraduate Education & Research (HMSDC) in collaboration proudly offer an occupational medicine CME-approved Continuing Development Program in Dubai. These programmes will add valuable professional training and professional development to occupational medicine specialists, trainees and primary medical care professionals engaged in occupational medicine practice.

A programme of one day seminars will bring together top occupational medical academics and front-line occupational medicine practitioners to focus on a range of key issues. Each seminar will focus on a specific high priority topic area and surrounding issues. Delegates can choose to attend individual seminars or include the ongoing program of CME-CPD meetings which can be used to develop and enhance professional skills in a range of practice areas. Doctors wanting to train in occupational medicine can also enroll for the Otago distance learning Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine and Masters in Health Science (Occupational Medicine) and Doctorate   programmes that have been offered in the Middle East through Dubai since 2007.

Completion of the programme will entitle delegates to formal certification of CME points. These are required for renewal of medical licenses in the UAE and College/Board MOPS programs in other countries, through HMSDC.

Continuing Medical Education Seminar:

The seminar on
May 20th - Compliance and Risk Management has been postponed due to travel concerns related to H1N1 outbreaks. A new date will be announced soon.
The next Continuing Medical Education day will take place on May 20th 2009 in Room 205 at the Emirates Aviation College in Dubai.

The quality and safety of occupational health practice have increasingly come under the spotlight, and the London Royal College of Physicians are about to release a guide on Good Occupational Medical Practice. The consequences of deficiencies in clinical and policy decisions in occupational health practice are far reaching and we need to focus on best practice. Employers are also interested in best practice as a way of ensuring compliance and minimising risk. All these topics are discussed in a far reaching seminar and workshop with a Middle East context.

A CME resource page and CME Forum has been set up. Click here to open the Dubai CME Forum website for discussion groups and resource materials from the Otago University and Harvard Medical School Dubai Center.

We welcome you to join us at these seminars. For further information on any of our programs including the Employers Seminar, CME-CPD program or the Diploma in Occupational Medicine program  please contact us here.

Driving Directions to Emirates Aviation College, Dubai

Drive down Sheik Zayed road and then onto Sheik Rashid so that you cross the Al Garhoud Bridge. At the end as you hit the airport complex, you will see the old Emirates Aviation College with a front that looks like an Airbus. At that intersection, turn left continuing on Rashid and 100 m down on the right hand side you will see a large brown sign saying Aviation Village. Turn in there and turn right to go back on yourself in a loop that takes you to the NEW Emirates Aviation College. There is parking on the grass left of the new building. Make sure you have photo ID to get into the Aviation College.
