Parliament Reception
Join us for welcome reception at the Parliament on Wednesday evening which will be hosted by Education Minister Anne Tolley. This is an ideal opportunity catch up with friends and colleagues in a social setting at the start of the conference.  Drinks and canapés will be served.  Attendance is free of charge for full registrants; however please confirm your attendance on the registration form. A cost of $45 applies to partners, non-delegates and day registrants.

Conference Dinner
The Conference Dinner is the social highlight of the conference.  This dinner will talk place on Thursday evening in the Amora Hotel (formerly the Duxon Hotel).    A three course meal and drinks will be served followed by entertainment.

Wellington Rings Tour
Thursday 2nd June 2011, 1.45 – 5.00pm

Stunning views of the harbour and Wellington city from the top of Mt Victoria and the first     filming location site used in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

Roam the outskirts of the Shire and Buckland Forest (Fellowship of the Ring), where the Hobbits hid from the Nazgul/Black Riders.  Explore the dark forest where they found the steep embankments of the Dunharrow Rohirrim encampment.  Run along the same path that the Hobbits ran to the Ferry.
Visit Weta Cave in Miramar and take a video tour of Weta. Weta Workshop and Weta Digital created special effects for the Lord of the Rings trilogy and many other movies. The video tour takes you “behind the scenes” with an exclusive insight into the creativity and imagination that goes into crafting the art of Weta.
You will come face to face with some of the characters, props and displays from your favourite movies in the mini museum and display area and also be able to purchase those special souvenirs to remember this unique experience by

Fitness Level    A medium fitness level is sufficient.
