Whanau ora – Family Health and Wellbeing; Innovative Strategies for Practice
Presenter: Tau Huirama
This workshop will focus on strategies that can enhance families and extended families
experiencing family violence to become healthy and functioning. The session will include
discussion on intervention for women, children and families.
The workshop will include presentations and panel discussion with case scenarios to explore
implications for practice.
- At the end of the session, participants in attendance will:
- Gain knowledge and understanding of Whanau Ora, principles and strategies.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of various levels of whanau (families) functioning.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of the
different needs and interventions for supporting whanau to succeed and
achieve Whanau Ora.
- Be able to link information gained from the workshop into their environment/practice.
