Local Organising Committee
Our LOC is a diverse team of academic and non-academic personnel with a broad range of skills and experience in successful conference organisation. We have representatives from the University of Canterbury (conference underwriter), the Australia and New Zealand Geomorphology Group (IAG membership proxy), ChristchurchNZ (local economic development agency), and a professional conference organiser.
Prof. Ian Fuller, Massey University

Dr. Sam McColl, GNS Science (and ANZGG Executive Member & GSNZ Vice-President)

Conference hosting experience: Convener of ANZGG 2017 conference; co-convener of 2014 & 2021 GSNZ conferences.

Dr Sarah McSweeney, University of Canterbury

Conference hosting experience: Co-host of the 'Inaugural international workshop on intermittent estuaries in a changing climate Conference’ June 2021, online. Assistance with the 18th Australian and New Zealand geomorphology Group (ANZGG) conference February 2019.

On organising committee for Institute of Australian Geographers (IAG) 2017; Co-organiser of 16th Biennial Australia New Zealand Geomorphology Group Conference at Mt Tamborine 2014; Previously involved in oragnisation of Australasian Quaternary Association Conference and many international workshops.

Peter Almond, Lincoln University
Conference hosting experience: Peter has contributed to conference organisation and designed and led field trips for the INQUA (International Union of Quaternary Research) IPA (International Permafrost Association), AQUA (Australasian Quaternary Association), NZSSS (New Zealand Soil Science Society) and GSNZ (Geoscience New Zealand). His interests lie in soils, geomorphology, and Quaternary Geology.
