It has come to our attention that there is a phishing scam circulating that misuses the conference name. We want to ensure your safety and security, so we kindly request your caution and vigilance when it comes to receiving conference-related emails. Please note that all legitimate email communication from the conference organisers will originate from the official addresses [email protected] or [email protected].

Kia ora koutou (greetings to all)

We invite you to Ōtautahi Christchuch in Aotearoa New Zealand, for the XIII SCAR BIOLOGY SYMPOSIUM.
Join us and many of the world’s leading scientists and early career researchers in Antarctic Biology and Ecology for the first face-to-face SCAR meeting in 3 years.

Set in New Zealand's Antarctic Gateway City, this meeting will offer four days of invited keynotes, plenaries, and concurrent sessions, with a mid-week break of excursions to allow attendees to enjoy some spectacular parts of New Zealand’s South Island.

Satellite meetings and workshops will be held during the weekends before and after the meeting. The conference will be enriched by the tikanga (traditions) and mātauranga (knowledge) of New Zealand’s indigenous Māori people and a true dedication to sustainability.

Haere Mai,
Welcome to Ōtautahi Christchurch

A warm welcome awaits you in our city, a place of greenery, contemporary and classic architecture, scenery and space. Otautahi Christchurch has been rebuilt and reimagined; Venues are world-class, flexible, and uber-modern.

WORLD CLASS VENUE

Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre

Te Pae is New Zealand's first-generation Convention Centre. Sitting in the heart of the city along the banks of the Ōtākaro Avon River - its striking architecture pays homage to the landscape of Canterbury and the history of local Ngāi Tahi iwi, featuring a distinctive façade that wraps and flows around the building reflecting the braided rivers of the Canterbury Plains.
