PPTA Education Conference 2021

19 – 21 April 2021, Wellington

If COVID-19 has shown us anything, it has shown us the need for a robust, equitable education system. The theme “Whakatairangatia! Advancing the dream of public education” is more relevant than ever.

Civil rights activist and educator W. E. B. DuBois put it this way, ‘Of all the civil rights for which the world has struggled and fought for, the right to learn is undoubtedly the most fundamental’.

The PPTA Education Conference 2021 will be teachers talking to one another about that right, about teaching and learning. Teachers do the mahi, we are the experts in the room. We’ll be hearing from Pasi Sahlberg about world trends in education and their risks, Rawiri Toia will lead discussion on culturally sustainable pedagogies, and Travina Kang will share the way Singapore promote teacher professional development. But there will also be lots of opportunities for teachers to share with and learn from each other through the 30 workshops and research presentations.

Join us in Wellington in April 2021 to listen, learn, share and be heard.
